  1. Medical History: This will include a thorough check of chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease), Mental health history, Past pregnancies and any complications, and Family history of genetic conditions
  2. Medications and Supplements: Pre-pregnancy is the perfect time to look at current medications and supplements, switching to pregnancy-safe options if needed, and starting pregnancy specific supplementations like folic acid
  3. Vaccinations: Several infections and immunisation status warrant special attention when planning pregnancy (e.g., rubella, chickenpox). Your doctor will discuss these infections, the benefits of vaccination for you and your future baby, and arranging vaccinations and boosters if required.
  4. Lifestyle Factors: There are many ways to prepare for pregnancy. Pre-pregnancy appointments are the perfect time to assess Nutrition and weight management, Alcohol, smoking, and recreational drug use, Caffeine intake, Exercise and physical activity
