Laparoscopic surgery is the gold standard for both diagnosing and treating endometriosis. The procedure involves removing or destroying endometrial tissue outside the uterus, which can relieve pain, improve fertility outcomes, and reduce disease progression. It is performed under general anaesthetic and may be recommended if medical management hasn't been effective.
