Implanon® Subdermal Implant

A hormone-releasing implant placed under the skin of the arm to prevent pregnancy for up to 3 years.

Implanon is a matchstick-sized rod inserted under the skin of your upper arm, slowly releasing a hormone (etonogestrel) to prevent pregnancy. It is a reliable and reversible form of contraception.

The procedure is quick, involves a local anaesthetic, and has minimal downtime.

After insertion, you'll be shown how to feel for the implant under your skin. Keep the site clean and dry for 24–48 hours, and watch for any signs of infection.
